Alicia Sundh

Owner

Alicia is originally from Durban, South Africa, herself an accomplished tennis player, was ranked 14th in the world on the junior tour (ITF) in doubles and 49th in the world (ITF) singles and competed at Wimbledon, The US Open, The French Open and the Australian Open. She won gold at the All African Games, represented South Africa in Fed Cup 2003 - 2006 and was nominated for the South African Olympic Team (Greece, Athens).

As a Collegiate player she was an All-American at the University of Tulsa where she played #1 for the Golden Hurricane. Alicia competed in the NCAA Championship during her collegiate career and won the Women’s Central Region Singles Title. She was named ITA Central Region Player to Watch, Regional ITA Senior Player of the Year, TU Women’s Tennis Player of the Year and TU Ultimate Team. She reached a ranking high of 8th in the Nation NCAA Division I.

She has 10 years of teaching experience at the Proform Tennis Academy in Rye Brook, NY and is currently the Head Assistant Tennis Professional at Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier, PA.

Marcus Sundh

Owner

Marcus was born in Sweden where he grew up learning to play tennis at his father’s tennis club outside Stockholm. As a junior, he was the runner-up in the Swedish doubles championship, and semifinalist in singles, finishing his last year as a junior with a national ranking in the top 4. He played numerous ITF junior tournaments throughout the world, winning the doubles title in Estonia, reached the finals in Finland and beat the13th
ranked player on the ITF Junior world Rankings, Dudi Sela of Israel.

In 2004, his tennis career continued on at a Collegiate Division I level where he competed for the University of Kentucky all four years and served as the team Captain his junior and senior year.

He has 10 years of coaching and teaching experience at the well-known Proform Tennis Academy in Rye Brook, NY where he directed the academy’s elite junior programs and 9 years of experience at numerous prestigious country clubs across the United States including the Nantucket Yacht Club, Country Club of Fairfield and is currently the Director of Tennis at Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier, PA.

Brandon Statler

Teaching Professional

Originally from Windber PA, Brandon’s love for tennis started at the age of ten. Through hard work and dedication to the sport, he played 1st singles and 1st doubles all 4 years at Windber Area High School. During those years, he was voted Bi-County’s Most Outstanding Player (2014,2015,2016) and took 1st place in the PIAA Singles Division (2015,2016) After graduating from Windber in 2016, Brandon pursued his love for tennis full time. He’s held a professional certification from the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) since 2017. From spending the last 4 years at Rolling Rock Club to most recently the Ebensburg Tennis Center, Brandon is delighted to be apart of the Greensburg Racquet Club team!

Kim Kissell

Teaching Professional

Kissell played high school tennis at Greensburg Salem High School and she earned a tennis scholarship at Florida Southern College. Kim helped the team win the Sunshine State Conference. Kissell has worked as a tennis professional at Greensburg Racquet Club for 27 years. She has coached her own children to six state championships and six national titles. All four of her children earned Division 1 athletic scholarships (University of Miami & Marshall, NC State, Western Carolina, Valparaiso). Kim is the head coach at Seton Hill University. This will be her 8th year. Kissell is also an assistant coach at Saint Vincent College. She has been coaching there for nine years where her 2013 team was the PAC Conference champions. Kissell is also helping out with Latrobe High School boys tennis team.

Emily Bevington

Teaching Professional

Emily Bevington is a Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified Associate Instructor who's been actively involved in tennis for over 12 years. She started her coaching career as the Assistant Girls Tennis Coach in 2015 for Hempfield Area School District. Most recently, she has instructed Junior Development Clinics at the Greensburg Racquet Club since September 2018. Emily's other teaching experiences include being the Assistant Youth Tennis Instructor for Hempfield Recreation summer camps for six years and being a seasonal Junior Tennis Professional at the Rolling Rock Club from 2015-2016.

Emily is a local of Greensburg and attended Hempfield Area School District where she was a Varsity Captain and lettered Varsity for three years. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, cum laude, in 2018 with a BS in Management. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her dog, off-roading with her family in their Jeep Wranglers, and volunteering in the community.

Jerry Way

Teaching Professional

Jerry is a certified tennis instructor with the Professional Tennis Registry. He has been certified for 21 years! For the past 20 years he has enjoyed teaching private and group lessons including Junior Development Clinics at GRC. He has also coached several local high school boys/girls tennis teams, including Hempfield Area Boys and Girls, Norwin, Mt. Pleasant and Belle Vernon Varsity and Junior Varsity Teams. Jerry has also been the Head Instructor for the Hempfield Recreation Clinics for several years. He has competed and captained several GRC Men's travel teams. Jerry resides in Latrobe, PA together with his wonderful wife of thirty-three years.

Mark Kissell

Mark has been at the Greensburg Racquet Club for over 20 years. Mark is an avid fly fisherman and a father of four.
